Every set and every style here is mine, done in the studio. There is a lot more on Instagram, including the reels that show how each one came together.

Nails on the left, hair on the right. Add-ons stack on top of a base set, and anything not listed here is a DM away with a photo.

Nail sets

Base price covers a plain acrylic set or solid gel polish. Add-ons are priced separately below.

Braids and cornrows

Everyone's hair has to be blown out before styling. Prices may vary with length and thickness.

  • Blow dry

    Blowing it out yourself is fine, as long as it is thorough and as straight as possible.

    2 for $50, 4 for $60, 6 for $70, 8 for $80, 10 for $90.

Twists, locs and retwists

Hair still has to be blown out first. Sizes are the width of the twist or braid, not the length.

  • Twists, box braids or loc retwist

    Large $70, medium $80, small $90, xsmall $100. Xsmall is twists only.

  • Loc styles

    Two strands, barrels, half and half. $15 added onto a retwist, $20 for the style on its own.

Booking into someone's home is a fair thing to hesitate over, so here it is. A room set up properly for long appointments, with the door closed and nobody else in it.

Meet Mya

Hi, I am Mya.

I do hair and nails out of a room in my home in Barrhaven, Ottawa. Braids, twists, locs and retwists on one side, full sets and nail art on the other. Plenty of people end up booking both on the same day.

Working from home is what keeps the prices where they are and the appointments unhurried. A head of stitch braids or a set of hand-painted nails takes hours, so I would rather run one client at a time and do it properly than rush three at once.

Everything is booked through a DM, so you are talking to me from the first message right through to the day itself.

It should still look good in week three. That is the whole job.

How do I book?

Send a DM on Instagram. That is the fastest way to reach me and it is where every appointment gets confirmed. Tell me what you want done and a couple of days that work for you, and I will come back with a time.

Where is the studio?

It is a private home studio in Barrhaven. Because it is my home, the exact address goes out once your appointment is confirmed rather than being published on the site.

How do I pay?

Cash only, at the end of your appointment. There is no deposit taken online and nothing is held until I confirm the time with you.

You do not have the style I want on your page. Can you still do it?

Most likely. DM me a photo of the hairstyle you are after and I will quote you an exact price. Special styles start at $80.

How should I come to a hair appointment?

Blown out, clean, detangled, and with no product or oil in it. If you would rather I blow it out, that is $20. If your hair arrives not properly detangled there is a $15 charge, because it adds real time to the appointment.

How should I come to a nail appointment?

With bare nails. I do not do foreign fills, and I do not do fills on nails that are three or more weeks old.

What happens if I am running late?

There is a 10 minute grace period. After that it is a $10 late fee, and past 20 minutes the appointment is cancelled unless we discussed it beforehand.

Can I bring someone with me?

No extra guests, please. It is one client at a time in a room inside my home, which is the whole point of booking a home studio.

Before you book

A few house rules, so nothing is a surprise.

None of this is here to be difficult. It is a room in my home running one client at a time, so the whole schedule moves when an appointment does.

  • Cash only

    Payment is cash, settled at the end of your appointment.

  • 10 minute grace period

    Past 10 minutes late it is +$10. Past 20 minutes the appointment is cancelled, unless we agreed something beforehand.

  • No extra guests

    One client in the room at a time, so please come on your own.

  • For hair: clean and detangled

    Come with no product or oil in it. If it is not detangled properly it is +$15, because it adds real time to the appointment.

  • For nails: bare nails

    No foreign fills, and no fills on nails that are three or more weeks old.

  • When you arrive

    Text me when you get here. There is plenty of free street parking, and snacks and drinks are there if you want them.
